What do we mean by “Messianic?” We choose to live the way Yeshua (Jesus) did, seeking to observe the Torah to the best of our ability, observing Shabbat (the Sabbath – on Saturday), and celebrating the feasts (holidays) that YHVH (God the Father) instructed us to observe. We do use some Hebrew prayers and worship songs, but we also do all we can to make them easy to pronounce and understand.
What does this Messianic home fellowship meeting look like? We meet on Saturdays at 10:30 am. After a short time of welcoming, we open with the blowing of the shofar (ram’s horn) and prayer. We sing a couple of Hebrew prayers, and then move into worship. We have a type of homemade liturgy, incorporating prayers and scriptures. Our time together may include watching a video with teaching by a Bible scholar or pastor, sharing what YHVH has been showing us over the week, and communion. Then we eat and fellowship together, closing with a final blessing.
